Center on Extremism
Monitoring, exposing and disrupting all forms of hate
The Center on Extremism monitors, investigates, exposes and disrupts all forms of extremism and the groups that perpetrate such activities.
In August 2017, during the largest white supremacist gathering in decades in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Center on Extremism was there. We raised the alarm to public officials beforehand, monitored and reported on the violence as it happened, and identified the perpetrators for law enforcement afterwards.
Your investment in the Center on Extremism will ensure that we:
-
Respond on a larger scale—and in real time—to all forms of anti-Semitic and prejudice incidents, and proactively alert community members and law enforcement to threats from extremists
-
Pioneer new monitoring capabilities to support law enforcement response and engagement, hate incident tracking and response, and ADL’s 25 regional offices that are fighting hate locally on the frontlines
-
Develop customized software to process data, analyze key trends and produce products for internal and external consumption with unrivaled scale and efficiency
-
Scale law enforcement training programs to reach 15% of the sworn law enforcement personnel in the US (roughly 135,000 individuals) through classroom and online learning while cementing our position as the leading non-governmental trainer of law enforcement in the country
The training was incredibly valuable… I have to reflect on my own beliefs and perspective... As law enforcement we must set the example of how to treat others—in word and deed." — LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL
